Special Offerings at the Fair

Kitchen Compost Pail and Biobag give-a-way.
For Residents of Shoreline Only:

Made from 50% recycled plastic, this kitchen compost pail is handy, portable and perfect for short term storage of food scraps for your backyard compost bin or food scrap/yard waste cart. With its wide opening it is easy to clean off dishes directly into the container. For your convenience, the pail may be placed on the kitchen countertop or hung inside a cupboard door. It also works well to line the pail with a compostable kitchen bag to easily dispose of food scraps.

Save your food scraps without making a mess. These 3-gallon bags are 100% compostable and designed to fit most kitchen compost containers. Made from corn-based materials, the bags breathe naturally to allow heat and moisture to escape without leaking. Try storing fruits and vegetables in the refrigerator to keep foods “fresher” longer, then use the same bag to line your food scraps pail. Five bags in each sample bag.

Re-Cycled Commodities Sale

Room Nine Community School (RNCS), in conjunction with Shoreline SolarFest, is holding a Re-Cycled Commodities Sale on July 19 at the Fair site.

But we need your gently used goods to make it an over-the-board success! RNCS will be collecting re-useable items in good working order between 3.30 and 7.00 on July 14th and July 16th at RNCS site: the NORTH wing (only) of the Meridian Park School, 17077 Meridian Ave. N (at 175th), Shoreline. 3% of all proceeds will go to a local area non-profit with the rest benefiting RNCS -- the only K-8 public school in Shoreline. RNCS integrates "real-life" learning into their curriculum that also stresses the development of critical thinking skills in our children.

Please limit the amount of clothing you have to donate and look for re-usable items in good working order (no eight track cassettes for example!) For more information, call Mary Beth @ 425.672.9475

Kid Zone

Build your own Solar Kinetic Contraption in the Kid Zone. We challenge you to make something that moves with the power of the sun. Parts are everywhere, we provide you the solar panel and the solar motor. If it floats test it in the pool, if it rolls, run it down the solar track.

See Solar Cooking Demonstrations and make your own Solar Hot Dog Cooker.

Make a paper Sundial.

Burn off some energy in the Obstacle Course hosted by Cascade Elite Gymnastics.
